Welcome to Neurolinguistics!
This class will be offered in Spring 2017 co-taught by Prof. María Piñango and Ph.D. candidate Sara Sánchez-Alonso. Neurolinguistics deals with the interaction between the processes that conform the language system, the memory system, and the conceptual system and thow they are supported by the brain. In this course we will explore the interaction among the systems in detail, including the main methodologies (e.g., lesion studies, and neurophysiological and neuro-imaging techniques) employed to investigate it. The main objective of the course is to present an example of a coherent approach to research in cognitive neuroscience.
We will be using the Language in the Human Brain website for the first tiem with the goal of facilitating critical thinking of journal articles. We hope that the website will also help making a direct connection between the results of the experimental work and the brain itself.
